Scholarships for Adult Learners

American Legion Auxiliary Non-Traditional Student Scholarship
- Must be a descendant of a veteran
- Must be a non-traditional student returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her education was interrupted
- Must be over the age of 22 attending college for the first time pursuing a degree OR over the age of 22 attending a vocational/trade school

- Must be a McDonald's employee who has been employed for at least 90 cumulative days
- Must work an average of 15 hours per week or more
- Must have a performance rating of "significant performance" or better, maintained throughout the course/program

James W. McLamore WHOPPER® Scholarship
- must be an employee or the spouse of an employee of the Burger King Corporation
- must have been employed for at least 6 months as of the application deadline date
- must be planning to enroll for the 2023-24 academic year at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the U.S.

Fred & Lena Meijer Scholarship
- Must be a Meijer team member or the child (natural, legally adopted, or stepchild) of a Meijer Team Member who has been employed for at least one year by the time of the application deadline
- Children of team members must be full-time students to apply, while Meijer team member applicants may be part-time students
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at an educational institution or training school within the United States

Jeannette Rankin National Women's Scholar Grant
- Must be a woman age 35 or older
- Must be low-income
- Must be accepted to an accredited, not-for-profit trade school, 2-year college, or 4-year university

- Must be a Michigan resident
- Must be at least 25 years old at the time of application
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.)
- Must not have previously earned an Associate or Bachelor's degree.

National Association of Career Women Scholarship
- Must be a woman resident of Eaton, Ingham or Clinton County
- Must be enrolled in or accepted for enrollment in an accredited institution pursuing an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree or certificate-based program
- Must be currently employed, interning, volunteering, or serving in other activities
- Must be experiencing financial need (the need should be described in the personal letter)
- Must have experienced at least 1 year of interruption in their academic career

Optimal Online Degree Scholarship
- Must be a legal resident of the United States (excluding Rhode Island, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands)
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be enrolled at an accredited private or public educational institution and be working towards an ONLINE certificate, diploma, or degree at the associate’s level or a first-time bachelor’s level
- Must be pursuing an academic degree online (with all classes requiring little to no attendance on campus)

- Must be employed part-time or full-time with Walmart for at least six consecutive months prior to the application due date for the award period in which the associate is applying.
- Must have graduated high school/home school, have obtained a GED or be a graduating high school senior who intends to enroll in a college or university upon graduation.
- Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with the required documents. (Note: Associates with other funds that pay entirely for tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board are not eligible to apply.)
