Welcome to Eaton Rapids Middle School!

The logo for Baton Rapids Middle School features the school name in maroon text.

The Middle School is home to all Eaton Rapids fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders. Because of the uniqueness of early adolescents and their variety of interests and experiences, special attention is given to physical education, art, STEM, vocal music, band, computers and other related areas.

  • We, the staff of Eaton Rapids Middle School, believe that our school is a transitional experience for students between childhood and adolescence. We share a commitment to provide a learning environment that facilitates optimum development, both academic and personal, of each student. We will provide a curriculum that enables each student to develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, responsibility, and the independence necessary for continued learning and future success. We believe that students, parents, and community are vital to the attainment of these goals.

    ERMS Students GROWL!

    Give our best
    Respect ourselves and others
    Own our behavior
    Work and play safely
    Lead by example

  • Eaton Rapids Middle School will be starting a new process to help identify students early on that may need our help to be successful in their future schooling. We will be looking at what are called Early Warning Indicators (EWI’s) and using them to help identify students that may be at risk.

The EWI’s we will be looking at are attendance, behavior, and course performance (Math and ELA). Research shows that students flagged in these areas are at an increased risk of not only struggling in school but not graduating. We want to do our best to help all of our students be successful; this is something we feel will help us do that.

    How Can You Help?

    Attendance

Help make sure students are at school on a daily basis, encourage students to be to class on time.

    Behavior

Remind students of our GROWL and how following those ideas will help them avoid in-school and out-of-school suspensions.

    Course Performance

Make academics a top priority, stress with students to ask teachers for help, keep open lines of communication about academic performance.

With our help, your support, and student buy-in we feel strongly that this process will help our students move forward as we strive to provide all students with the best education possible.
