Plains Road Closure & High School Traffic Update
Dear Greyhound Families,
As we prepare for the start of the 2026–2027 school year, we want to provide an important update regarding road construction and campus access. Please review the following information to ensure a smooth and safe arrival for our students and staff.
Due to the ongoing road construction, Plains Road will remain closed to through traffic until September 7th. While original estimates projected an earlier opening, the contractor has confirmed that work will continue through the Labor Day weekend.
To navigate this closure, we have adjusted the entry and exit points for Eaton Rapids High School. We ask that all families, students, and staff adhere to the following traffic plan:
North Drive Open: The main north entrances/exits to the High School campus are fully operational. This does not include the exit on the far east end of campus on the north side.
West Entrance/Exit: The west entrance and exit remain open for both students and staff.
Greyhound Drive: The entrance off Greyhound Drive remains the primary recommended route for both entry and exit.
Patience and Safety: With the first day of school scheduled for Monday, August 24th, please allow for extra travel time during the first week of classes as everyone adjusts to these traffic patterns.
Staff and Student Priority: These designated entrances are intended to prioritize safety and efficiency for our high school community.
Sports Facilities: The 50-acre site is now open. Any parking or traffic needs should utilize the large Northwest parking lot at the high school, and individuals may walk over from there.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus soon!
Sincerely,
Kevin Dufresne - Superintendent
Eaton Rapids Public Schools
