About Us

Welcome to Eaton Rapids Public Schools

While we continue to face tough budget decisions, we have created some wonderful programs and partnerships which make school life better for your children:

  • Art, music, and physical education classes are offered to all elementary students. Our band program starts in fifth grade.  Additionally, we have classes using fine arts and computers at the high school (digital art, web page design, and photography).  We are tied with the Wharton Center with Integrated Arts.
  • We have child care and preschool programs located at Union Street Center.
  • The use of Union Street Center has given new homes to a Driver's Education program, a dance studio, Backpack Program and Teen Center.  Our community education and aquatics programs are also in full swing.
  • We have introduced the Summit Learning and a new mathematics curriculum (Everyday Math) as well as project based science curriculum at the Middle School.
  • Our enrollment in advanced placement (AP) classes at the high school is skyrocketing as we add more classes in this area.
  • The grade level buildings at Greyhound Central Elementary (Kindergarten), Lockwood (1-2) and Greyhound Intermediate (3-5) have helped us in delivering consistent curriculum to students.
  • Our Montessori program continues to grow, serving preschool through 5th-grade students.
  • Our enrollment in our alternative high school (Greyhound Central Performance Academy) has grown steadily due to our use of popular online classes.
  • LCC offers courses on our campus in computers, speech and college writing. We also continue to have use of the wonderful LCC programs for our high school students who want to start training in vocational careers.

We believe this highlights just some examples of how we are exercising stewardship and developing programs that serve your children well. While all of us want to see our financial situation improve, we still will have bright days for your students during the school day.
