An ERPS employee returned from international travel over the weekend. In consultation with the Barry-Eaton District Health Department, the employee discussed their situation with health department staff. The employee worked on Monday, March 9th, as they were unaware of the self-quarantine recommendations from the CDC given their travel history.
The employee will now undergo self-quarantine for 14 days. Based upon the department's assessment, there is minimal risk to students and staff. There is no reason for self-quarantine of anyone else.
Affected Greyhound Intermediate School (GIS) classrooms received a thorough cleaning using approved chemical products this afternoon and evening.
As this is just a precautionary measure for the safety of the ERPS community, we will hold school as usual tomorrow.
We have attached the comments from the Barry-Eaton District Health Department as well as the continued reminders of how to stay safe from respiratory illnesses.
