MS. MEISTERHEIM'S CLASS

Welcome back students!  This year in 5th grade we have many exciting things to learn.  We'll be advancing our math skills to include long division and multiplication.  In science we will be studying the solar system, systems and survival and forces and motion.   In reading we will go to other worlds of science fiction and fantasy, travel to medieval times and tackle mysteries that even Sherlock Holmes might not be able to solve.  Mrs. Clarke will teach Social Studies.

 I believe in teamwork and we will work on being a team throughout the year.  Two of my favorite sayings are:  "We are a risk taking, mistake making class" and "Fair is not everyone getting the same thing, it is everyone getting what they need to be successful."  As your teacher I will be encouraging you to take risks.  The best way to learn is to be willing to try new things and make mistakes.  I will do everything in my power to get you what you need to be successful. Together, we will be a team.

 I look forward to the 2010-11 school year and sharing time with all of you.
