Welcome to Mr. Benington's PE/Physical Education Class

This year in PE class we will be learning skills in many different sports/activities, and we will be working to move our major muscle groups as much as possible to improve our fitness level.  This is an effort based class, which is different from every other class.  You do not need to be skilled at sport activities to get a good grade in this class.  Dress for activity, be on time, participate to the best of your ability, treat people with respect and you will enjoy the class and receive a good grade.  

 I attended high school at Gabriels H.S. in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated in 1969.  I earned a bachelors degree from Michigan State University in Criminal Justice in 1973.  I returned to add a bachelors in Physical Education in 1980.  I earned a Masters degree in  Education Administration from Illinois State University in 1985.  I started at Eaton Rapids High School as a PE teacher and boys varsity basketball coach in 1986.  I coached boys varsity basketball from 1986-2005, and girls varsity basketball from 1990-1997.  I played varsity basketball at Michigan State, and my father was the varsity coach there from 1965-1969.  So I am a diehard Michigan State fan.  Keep that in mind when you interact in school.
