Mrs. Davenport- GIS School Counselor

Welcome Back  Students. I will be the school guidance counselor for all students attending Greyhound Intermediate School. I have been a counselor for over 25 years and still have so much fun. I look forward to meeting the students and parents, working with classes on character education and social/emotional wellness lessons.  I will be working with 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. We will begin our year with building a trusting and fun environment for all the students due to the new transition of grade levels here. The staff here at GIS is ready and excited to meet all of the new students. 

My classroom guidance lessons will be age appropriate character education based lesson like  Bug and a Wish conflict resolution for 3rd and 4th  grades, bullying lessons and making good choices for 5th grade.  Getting into the classrooms is a way for all students to have access to guidance and is used as a prevention tool for the students.  Individual sessions are also available.

Groups will be offered in friendship circles, divorce, grief and anger management.

Just to give you a short background about myself: I am married, and have 3 grown children and live in Holt, MI.  For fun: I just love to dance ( many of you have seen my performances in assemblies at the school),  read, cook, and be at my lake cottage.  I am now nationally certified and have supervision certification to  supervise new counselors. I look forward to working with the staff, parents, and children of the Eaton Rapids Community.
