Silver Sharks Swimming
Competitive Swimming Team
Ready to take swimming to the next level? Silver Sharks swimmers develop their swimming skill and stamina while making friends and learning sportsmanship. Unlike many other sports, swimmers compete against the clock first, and hard work pays off with faster times. Swimmers should be age 6 and up, able to swim 2 lengths of the pool front crawl and backstroke, and have passed level 4 of swim lessons where they learned breaststroke and butterfly. Swimmers need to bring swimsuit, goggles, towel, cap (girls with long hair).
MEET THE COACH
Our coach, Christian Quada, started swimming 37 years ago at Marshall High School. He was a 4 year letter earner, multiple state qualifier and was team captain for 2 years. While at Ferris State University, Christian was a 4 year letter earner in swimming and was a multiple national qualifier and earned ALL-GLIAC honors all 4 years as well as All-American 2 years. His coaching experience started in 1989 with the Battle Creek Swim Club where he developed 8 state champions, 3 All-Americans and over 150 state and regional qualifiers. Christian also spent 2 years developing the Olivet College men's program and 2 years with the Kellogg Community College men and women's programs, where he coached 16 national qualifiers and 1 All-American. So far in his short time in Eaton Rapids he has had 1 state champion, 4 state qualifiers, 8 junior Olympic qualifiers, 2 junior Olympic champions, and over 14 League Champions.
Our swimming program is continuing to develop and we are able to offer a USA Swimming Development program for the more advanced club participant. The USA team is a travel program that has won events at Eastern Michigan University, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and co-ops with the programs from Harper Creek and Kalamazoo United.
